2023 Baseball Rules and Regulations

Beavers

Ages 5-7 yrs. Co-ed —Regular Tee Ball

Rules

  • Every player bats and plays on the field.

  • The ball is hit off a batting tee; there is no pitching.

  • There are no walks or strikeouts.

  • The ball must travel 10 feet, or it is a foul.

  • No fielder may cross the playing line until the ball is hit.

  • No stealing. The player stays on the base until the ball is hit.

  • An inning is over when all the players have batted once.

  • A standard game is four innings.

  • Scores are not kept at this age level

Positions

  • 1st Base

  • 2nd Base

  • 3rd Base

  • Modified Centerfield (ten feet behind and between 1st and 2nd Base)

  • Modified Shortstop (closer to where the pitcher would traditionally be)

  • Modified Right field (closer)*

  • Modified Right field (closer)*

  • *Expendable if there are not enough players

Equipment

  • Safety helmets must be worn.

  • Bats – 25”/26“ long

  • Ball – 9“ to 9½” around; 4 to 5 ounces. (Softer than a standard baseball)

Field

  • 50 feet between the bases.

  • A real or imaginary playing line is between first base and third base or an

  • arc 40 feet from home plate.

Badgers

Ages 8-9 yrs. Co-ed. Dad-Pitch with Tee option

Rules

  • Every player gets to bat and play the field.

  • Each batter receives a maximum of five pitches.

  • Three Strikes, Four balls

  • Three Strikes equals an out

  • The ball must travel 10 feet

  • No stealing. The player stays on the base until the ball is hit.

  • A standard game is six-inning – the game should not last longer than an hour.

  • No game should go beyond six innings.

  • Score is kept

  • After the 4th inning use the Tee if players are showing fatigue or have not hit the ball

Scoring and Out

  • Three strikes equal an out

  • Catching pop fly equals an out

  • Tag out on the base

  • 60 feet between the bases.

Bobcats

10-12 yrs. Girls - Slow Pitch Softball

Rules

  • Every player gets to bat and play the field.

  • Each batter receives a maximum of five pitches.

  • Three Strikes, Four balls

  • 3 strikes equal an out

  • The ball must travel 10 feet

  • Pitching must be hit-able and thrown underhand

  • No stealing. The player stays on the base until the ball is hit.

  • An inning is over when all the players have batted once.

  • The standard game is six-inning – the game should not last longer than an hour.

  • No game should go beyond six innings.

  • Score is kept

  • 1st Base

  • 2nd Base

  • 3rd Base

  • Pitcher

  • Catcher

Bears

10-12 yrs. Boys - Baseball

Rules

  • Every player gets to bat and play the field.

  • Each batter receives a maximum of five pitches.

  • Three Strikes, Four balls

  • 3 Strikes is out

  • The ball must travel 10 feet after being hit

  • No stealing. The player stays on the base until the ball is hit.

  • An inning is over when all the players have batted once.

  • A standard game is six-inning – the game should not last longer than an hour.

  • No game should go beyond six innings.

  • Score is kept

  • After the 4th inning use the dad pitch if players are showing fatigue or have not hit the ball
